ready..set...1!

if you are an avid blogger- you'll recognize this little guy! he just turned turned ONE! and i cannot believe how fast the year has gone. what a great day for taking pictures- cloudy and not too hot, with a very happy baby! it's always fun with these guys...this mom makes me laugh...

picture day is alot of work. first, finding outfits before the actual picture day. matching? oh. then, there's shoes. summer is so nice, no need for shoes- come barefoot. haircuts- schedule those. then, there's the 3 days before the picture day when someone falls and gets a big gash in the middle of their forehead. nice. so the morning of the pictures it's a dark purple, with an inch long gash mark remaining... rushing around, ironing outfits (skip this if possible), finding bows for hair, combing hair that never gets combed (you can skip this too), packing snacks and drinks to keep everyone happy..rushing because you're going to be late to the photo session... getting everyone into the car trying not to ruin the outfits you finally got them all in. wait. stop. aren't these supposed to be natural, unposed, candid pictures where we're having fun? YES! they are! those are the best kinds of pictures! of course we don't want to have pictures taken in our scrubby play clothes and hang them on the walls- but try to keep it easy on yourself...as simple as you can. i promise once you get there, we are going to have FUN!!!
