the missouri heart gallery

this week has been different than most for me. the weekend started off with this amazing family. their story is one that someday, when they tell their son, he will know the true heroes they are...they adopted their son from another country and were celebrating their one year "anniversary" together. great people with great big hearts...

on valentine's day of this year, i was asked if i would be interested in participating in the missouri heart gallery project. this is an organization that helps children in foster care find adoptive families. photographers volunteer to take pictures of the children and an exhibit of all the pictures is put together, and is taken across the state of missouri in 2008 in hopes that these children will find adoptive families. in 2007, 240 children were featured in the gallery and 74 children have found HOMES! wow. so , yesterday- i had the unbelieveable opportunity to meet 2 kids...a brother and sister- 13 and 15 years old. and did we have fun!!! even though it was pretty chilly outside... they were loving the camera and stopping to pose, finding "good spots", making my job so so easy. it was just alot of fun. i cannot wait to see the images enlarged. these 2 were gorgeous! it's so fun how kids love to have their picture taken... they sure did! the missouri heart gallery exhibit will be at crown center in may... we'll keep you posted.
