tonite i am working on these 2 sweet, sweet twins and i just had to post a few more...newborns are so fabulous to photograph. if you want to get some great pictures of your baby- grab a basket, or a blanket and open your front door - all the way- let all that great natural light stream into your house. blop your baby right in front of your door and snap away! if you have a backdoor that is opposite the front door, open both doors and get light coming in from 2 fantastic light sources!

what a great shoot!

wow...wow...i just had to keep adding to the "sneak peek" for this beautiful senior. so much for 3-4 pictures... how about 9? ha! what's amazing is there are lots more. i can't wait to get her slideshow done. we had such a great afternoon! she was so easy-going and, as you can tell, so fun to photograph. best of all- this is a real smile...even after 3 hours of shooting, she was genuinely happy and smiling like each picture was the first. thanks for making my job so enjoyable today, L! i cannot wait for you to see all of these....

catch me if you can...

this little guy was great to explore the farm with! up, down, all around... chasing the cat, clucking with the roosters, baaa-ing with the sheep, collecting rocks and running... he is all boy and will be 2 this week! happy birthday! this shoot was kind of a "landmark" for me. his mom and dad were some of the first "clients" i had that were willing to take a chance on me last spring...seems hard to believe that my photography business "officially" got started over a year ago. thanks to these guys for sharing another year with their family! i so appreciate it...thanks j and m!

my, oh my...

these 2 little ones are 6 weeks old twins...my, oh my- are they sweet. from bottle to bottom, and back again- i watched these 2 parents juggle it all with such calmness and ease... this family is absolutely amazing! now up to about 7 lbs. each, i was reminded again today of how fast time flies. seeing their tiny little arms, efforts to cry big, getting excited when their eyes open...all of it. i really might have to go back and take more pictures of these 2 just to be around them again. they were so much fun. what a fabulous afternoon!

all good...

these parents were laughing... we've all been there. your never spits-up, never cries, never needs her pacifier child always changes when the photographer arrives. after we realized how funny it was... and how hungry she was- everything turned around... and we got some really great pictures. as i work on these pictures, i will have to post a picture of their round crib! yes- it was a perfect circle and so neat! i think little "h" loved being naked...even though dad got a little wet:)

high fashion celebration...

watch out! this little bunch spent the afternoon at an unforgettable birthday party celebration at the pink zebra...this is the way to turn 3! yeah "P"! have you heard of the pink zebra? we will definitely be going back for more...sparkly hair, lots of shimmer lip gloss, dress-up choices galore, personalized finger painting and toes if you'd like. but it doesn't stop there. there were strawberry shortcake cupcakes, flip-flops to decorate, and purses to pick out! this birthday party was a favorite for sure. love that lip gloss. once the lip gloss went on, we saw all kinds funny faces! thanks for a really great birthday party... and if you haven't checked out the pink zebra---wow! check it out at www.thepinkzebraboutique.com in downtown bonner springs...

happy 40th anniversary!

celebrating 40 years of marriage! congratulations!!! since everyone was back in town for the celebration, it was a perfect time to get a family picture taken. this was fun trying to find the right "spot" for everyone...but we got it! seems like it's always harder for us, as adults, to be candid and relaxed when taking our pictures...but not for this group. too bad we can't see all those boys feet in the backrow- doing whatever it takes to be the tallest! ha! here's to 40 years of marriage! enjoy the celebration!!!

the lake is great!

i have been waiting to take pictures of these 3... and you can see why! we had such a fun morning taking pictures at their gg's. you can really tell what's so fun about letting loose and capturing the candid moments! seems like once the kids know they are done with the "have-to smiles" the BEST smiles come so easily. kids and candid- really is amazing! little "L" just turned one and what a happy little blue-eyed girl she is. i had to post the top one in color so you could see her beautiful eyes! wowee! the boys were a hoot...so glad we hung out on the boat to get some fantastic pictures of life as it is...full of energy and excitement! thanks for a great morning!...(and mom- look! we did a feet one for you!) yeah!

take it to topeka...

need a fast and fun day-trip? take it to topeka! really! the carousel is so much fun and heck- ride it twice- it's only 75 cents. we had to snap a few photos in front of the carousel with all the wizard of oz characters...and ga-ga too! after the carousel... it's on to the mini-train which takes you all around gage park. the topeka zoo is fantastic... so many animals to see and all within a short distance of walking... and it's even a great weekend quick trip. one hour from kc...check it out at www.topeka.org/parksrec/pr_catalog_gagetrain.shtml

in and out...and all over

thinking we could get an early jump on the heat, we started out bright and early. after about 15 minutes outside, everyone was ready to go in and cool off...and what a great time we had inside. i always get a kick out of shooting at people's houses because- watch out- we will move your furntiture wherever we can to get in the good light. these 2 little ones are twins. gotta love twins. with a very helpful amd smiley big sister. we chased them back and forth, all over, thru the furniture "tunnels"...which is just what life at 1 year old is. finally, at the end, they were ready to nap and we just had to take the last few up in their cribs...look at the difference between the color and black and white image. amazing to me how very different one picture can be just with a change of color....

these 2 are only a few months away from their BIG DAY! with an october wedding planned...it will be here soon! sounds like they are almost ready... can't wait to hear all about it. thanks for a great afternoon....and all the laughing...wish i could have video-taped the piggy back ride attempt- ha! p.s. happy birthday "S"!
